Service Description

My talks are designed to inform, guide and support both professionals and students on best practices for engaging with the parents/caregivers of children with mental illness. I describe in detail how it is for a family to navigate complex systems such as schools, hospitals, county mental health, police, medical professionals, and courts; and best practices for how they can be of the most help to a family in need. As a white, educated, resourced woman, I address, head on, the racial and class inequities in our "systems of support" and bring an equity lens to all my lectures. Contact Alisamoore@kidslikeours.org to schedule. "Alisa’s dynamic personality and her passion for social work/social justice, along with her practical experience greatly benefits her students. Alisa is an enthusiastic instructor, and her students (whether they are college students, social workers, foster parents, or colleagues) always appreciate her unique perspective, humor, balanced approach, and real working knowledge of the field."
